Conditions out at Lake Pueblo State Park continue to be excellent. The bird activity is even getting a little better. Today’s featured image is a Red-tailed Hawk who flew in at the treetop level just as the Sun was nearly set creating the intense show of colors on the bird’s undercarriage. I also caught a female Belted Kingfisher darting between the banks of the Arkansas River in search of a late afternoon snack. I didn’t see any herons flying today but I did see two perched high in the trees.
