Environment:
Start Time: 3:05 PM Temperature: 58 degrees Sky: Sunshine with clouds and wind.

I changed things up a bit today by walking on the South shore of the Arkansas River. I walked East from the Highway 96 parking area along the trail that winds around the group of watersheds known as Valco Ponds. Today I was wearing a jacket since the Sun was behind a bank of clouds when I set out. As soon as I was away from the car the Sun popped out and proceeded to roast me. Not only that but the stiff breeze that was there at the start ended up becoming an even stiffer wind by the time I was done. So, today’s outing was pretty brief – at least the walking part. I did get some water birds on the ponds – posted below. The late afternoon sunshine and clouds also served up a nice scenic shot looking South from the ponds. But – there were those clouds in the sky which prompted me to drive up to my favorite spot on the North end of the Lake Pueblo Dam where I sat watching the Sun slowly set. As you can see from today’s featured image the wait was certainly worth it. The real glory was more to the South but still very beautiful.
