This was a great day with which to end 2020. Calm and pleasant. It took most of the morning to get warmed up but it was well worth the wait. I posted up on the South bank of the Arkansas with the thought of doing some more duck video. I did get a couple of videos that I still need to edit so posting them here is going to have to wait. One thing I have to confirm when I work on those files is that I’m pretty sure I saw two Pied-billed Grebes. I’ll keep you posted. I also got to shoot some stills and managed to get a “new” bird – today’s featured image – a Black Phoebe. I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen these before but now I have proof. A Belted Kingfisher teased me from the other side of the river – a location they always seem to assume no matter what side of the river I am on. But my big score of the day is the Killdeer I have posted here. I was sitting on the river bank and he landed around twenty feet from me and gave me pose after pose. Fantastic!
