Things are finally warming up around here allowing me to take an afternoon walk. There was a bit of bird activity today but not as much cooperation. I had a good chance to get a smallish Cooper’s Hawk but rather than just take the shot I had – I tried to make a camera setting change which, apparently, was the same idea my intended subject had because he decided to change where he was setting and flew away. You’d think I would learn. I saw a Belted Kingfisher (across the river) and I spent some time focused on him hoping to catch him taking flight. He decided to stay put until I got bored. The best shot I got today is the featured image (above) of an American Bushtit who was hopping around a Cottonwood like a madman. The posted shot is the best one of the series. Below I have posted a Common Goldeneye.
