I got a bit of a pick-me-up this morning with a fabulous boost in temperature and the sighting of an adult American Bald Eagle. Sadly, the captures (which were all long shots) were not too hot. So for a featured image I offer a Great Horned Owl who I found (and got close to) sleeping in the shadows just off the trail. I’m pretty sure the owl at the bottom of this post is the same owl shot about an hour or so later and on a slightly different branch. Pictured here is a Townsend’s Solitaire perched on high checking things out.
