Environment:

Skipping the early morning walk and opting for an evening stroll paid dividends today. Though activity was low I managed to capture a Great Horned Owl getting primed for the evening hunt. The owl (below) was really fluffing the old feathers and shaking all about. The same owl is featured (above) in a more thoughtful moment. I also caught my juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron in the same area as the last time we met. This bird really makes it tough to get things in focus. Both of these birds seem to have favorite spots so I will probably be seeing them again soon. You, dear reader, will too.
