Environment:

If the weather forecasters are right the next two days will be stay at home days. That is why I decided to brave the cold this morning and give it a go out on the trails of Rock Canyon. My featured image is a couple of Mallard Ducks (probably an actual couple) who were catching a quick nap in the warmth of the morning sunshine. The Arkansas River was not exactly crowded today with American Coots accounting for the majority of bird activity. Momma owl was also snoozing in her nest. There was also a kind of rare appearance of an American Kestrel (pictured here) who was studying the ground below its perch very carefully.

Birds: Canada Geese, Mallards, Buffleheads, American Coots, Common Goldeneye, Gadwalls, Gulls, Belted Kingfisher, Great Horned Owl, Starlings, Doves, White-crowned Sparrows, Pied-billed Grebe, Dark-eyed Juncos
Critters: Mule Deer, Tree Squirrel
