Cooper's Hawk in Pueblo, Colorado

More Eagles+

Even though it was fourteen degrees colder this morning than it was yesterday the bright sunshine and the absence of any breeze made for excellent conditions. There were three or four American Bald Eagle patrolling around the Anticline Fishing Pond and/or the Arkansas River today. I took a lot of pictures (and some more video) but all the shots are pretty similar so I’ll save some for later. The Cooper’s Hawk pictured here was actually shot in my backyard. I spotted it as I was heading out and since I was holding my camera anyway I snapped a quick portrait. The photo at the bottom of this post is a nice grouping of Bufflehead ducks who were getting the day started with a swim.
