American Kestrel at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Even More Eagles+

Another great February morning with plenty of Eagles to fill my memory card. I saw five or six individuals with one of the juveniles taking the featured image slot. I’m really happy with this shot (even though I didn’t get the full bird in the frame) because you can really see the adult plumage coming in – I especially like the outlined tail feathers. Plus I got the great group shot below despite their best efforts to hide amongst the Cottonwood branches. As a bonus, there was also a pair of American Kestrels perched up high enjoying the sunshine.

Sightings:
Birds: Pied-billed Grebe, Common Goldeneye, Mallards, Gulls, American Bald Eagles, American Kestrels, Starlings, American Robin, Blue Jay
Critters: Tree Squirrels

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Lumix 100-300mm
