The weather finally broke my way and allowed me to get out for my first walk of 2022. The combined effects of the recent cold, snow and wind have left Lake Pueblo State Park in pretty good shape. I only saw a couple of new-fallen trees and the trails were almost completely free of ice and mud. The bird population still seems low to me. I got one long shot of a male belted kingfisher who was perched on the other side of the Arkansas River. Today’s featured image is a group of Canada Geese who were sleeping on the ice covering the Anticline Fishing Pond.
