Another break in the weather has allowed me to show my face on the trails of Rock Canyon. Things are picking up a bit – especially on the Arkansas River. We now have a nice variety of ducks mixing in with the ever present Mallards. I did catch a glimpse of an adult American Bald Eagle but no photo was possible. Pictured here is a Redhead Duck who was giving the river a look-over. Featured are a pair of Great Horned Owls who were quietly soaking up the sunshine. Closing things out is a Great Blue Heron actually landing on the river. It did not stay long because a human fisherman moved it to take the spot.
