January twenty second and this is just my fourth trip out to Lake Pueblo State Park this year. The cold has been brutal. Still today’s trip saw many more birds out and about. The Arkansas River is finally getting up to speed – today I saw lots of Mergansers, Goldeneye, buffleheads and even a couple of American Coots. All welcome sights. There were three or four Great Blue Herons also keeping an eye on the river (and me) without allowing for any close-ups.
