Environment:
Start Time: 3:30 PM Temperature: 50 degrees Sky: Mostly sunshine.

A pleasant bout of sunshine did a good job of making the paved trails at Lake Pueblo State Park mostly passable and turning the unpaved trails to ooky mud. Nevertheless I soldiered on and had a pretty good walk coming home with a few shots worth posting. My featured image is a Great Horned Owl who was starting to stir and greeting the day with the occasional hoot for good measure. The two bluebirds pictured here are identified by both Google and Cornell Labs as Eastern Bluebirds. I think I have both sexes but, please, don’t make any wagers based on my identifications. The Red-tailed Hawk below is an example of the kind of photo that I often get. I have learned to take a shot when I first spot a bird and then try for a better angle. This hawk had someplace else to be so I was not able to get a second shot.
