As long as the weather and my legs hold out I will keep coming out to Lake Pueblo State Park in the early mornings. I’d be even more dedicated if some eagles would show their beaks along the Arkansas River. Pictured here is a sequence of captures of a Red-tailed Hawk making a quick-turn exit from its perch. Also present above the river was this female Belted Kingfisher. She took one look at me and headed upriver. The featured image is a Hooded Merganser just starting a dive. I like to try and catch them when they come up to see if they have any good stuff in their bills. Neither I nor the merganser had any luck this morning.
