You can’t win ’em all. Even with another spectacular morning I managed to come home with not even a handful of decent photos. Only one of the fledgling Cooper’s Hawks was visible this morning and it continued its practice of perching in the shade. I’m only posting the shot (below) because I thought the Common Grackle would be lonely without a little company. But today’s featured image kind of makes up for everything. I saw these two Belted Kingfishers (on the other side of the river, of course) who were involved in some kind of kerfuffle. Whether they were friends or enemies I do not know but one of them was continuously dive bombing the other. Because of the distance from me I did not have much hope that any of my captures would even be in focus but, to my surprise, this one turned out!
