More terrific walking weather greeted me this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I wish a few more birds had joined in. By the noise coming from the trees I know there were lots of birds out there but they were keeping to themselves. I did shoot a Red-tailed Hawk in flight and I got a shot of another Hawk that I have not been able to identify but both these shots were really pretty boring. So, today’s featured image is of a clump of Blackfoot Daisies blooming on the side of the paved trail. Flowers are finally starting to bloom around the park and the Cottonwood trees are starting to live up to their names with more and more “cotton” collecting along the trails. One lizard graced me with a nice pose (pictured below) – I would have identified this guy as a Sand Lizard but Google tells me he is a Colorado Checkered Whiptail. For a bit of humor I have also posted what I am calling a Yellow-bottomed Wayward Bobber that was tangled into a tree along the river. Someone’s cast went terribly wrong – but they did catch a “big one”.
