Environment:
Start Time: 6:50 AM Temperature: 63 degrees Sky: Sunshine light haze with minimal breeze
What would have been another clear morning was marred by the arrival of this Summer’s first round of wildfire haze. Apparently Utah and New Mexico are sharing their fire fallout with us. This batch of haze is not really noticeable with relatively close up subjects but distant subjects (no Pikes Peak today) are severely obscured. Today’s featured image (above) is a Red-tailed Hawk abandoning its perch. A preflight photo of the bird perched is also posted here. With the (finally) blooming flowers the Cabbage Butterflies now have something to do – posted below is one of these guys hard at work. My other capture for the day – posted below is a Mule Deer doe lounging in the grass either planning her day or thinking about taking a nap. I guess that is the kind of things Mule Deer think about.
