Environment:
Start Time: 6:20 AM Temperature: 30 degrees Sky: Sunshine and clouds.

My tour of Rock Canyon got off to an early start this morning. I was out before the Sun in hopes of setting up a time-lapse session. Sadly (mostly because I could have slept in a little) what clouds there were, were all in the wrong places. The good news was that what birds there were on the trail, were in pretty good places. Featured is a couple of Gadwall Ducks flying low up the Arkansas River. I’m not familiar enough with this flavor duck to hazard an opinion on gender. I saw three Red-tailed Hawks one of which is pictured here. Also posted is another perched Townsend’s Solitaire and another perched Great Blue Heron. The way I figure we are about two weeks away from Osprey.
