Things started off with a bang this morning. I spotted the Great Blue Heron pictured here (and top and bottom of this post) first thing. I got this nice shot of it wading in the Anticline Fishing Pond before I took one too many steps in its direction and spooked it. But that allowed me to capture the other two in-flight shots. After that I could have just gone home as the rest of the walk was nowhere near as exciting. Still, it was well worth the trip out.
