Very crisp yet comfortable morning along the Arkansas River. Apparently it was a little too crisp for a lot of birds since not many were out appreciating the climate. Today I can honestly tell you that the featured image of a pair of Hooded Mergansers floating on the fishing pond is the best picture of the day. Not that it is that great of a picture but it is literally the only picture I shot. I’m glad they showed up. Pictured below is a Red-tailed Hawk that I captured at Belmar Park in Lakewood, Colorado on Saturday (3/4). This poor bird was under heavy attack by a group of angry Crows who would not let him be.

Sightings:
Birds: Common Goldeneye, Mallards, Gulls, Canada Geese, American Coots, Northern Flicker, Black-capped Chickadee, American Kestrel, Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Hawk
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrels, Mule Deer

Gear: Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Lumix 100-300mm
