Spring-like weather is persisting and will so for most of the week ahead. Local weather forecasters are promising us a snowy Saturday. Not at all unusual weather for March in Southeastern Colorado. Birds are still playing hard to get but activity is picking up. I could hear a number of unfamiliar bird calls and a couple of recognizable (by me) ones. There were Blue Jays about to be sure. I also heard a Belted Kingfisher. Aside from using my zoom lens to ID some of the birds I did see, I really had no need to be carrying a camera around. Today’s featured image is from my archive – a Winter prairie scene shot March 8, 2014. I can’t really recognize the exact location where this shot was taken but it appears to be from the Western edge of Lake Pueblo looking East.
Sightings:
Birds: Canada Geese, Gulls, Flicker, American Coot, Buffleheads, Red-tailed Hawk
Critters: Cabbage Butterfly, Squirrel
