Crazy warm morning. This has to be the earliest I’ve been out on the trail this year – and plenty warm to boot. The Starlings were pretty busy today making nesting plans and I caught my first sight of a Red-winged blackbird – so Spring is certainly running ahead of schedule. The Cooper’s Hawks were also busy working on their nest (which I still haven’t spotted) and they have become quite expert at perching on limbs that make photographing them very difficult. The shot below is the best angle I had all morning. I can’t seem to catch the herons anywhere but in the air of late. Today’s featured image is a Mule Deer doe looking for something to munch on in the morning light.
