I cut today’s walk short because of the Sun’s inability to burn through the heavy clouds that are previewing tomorrow’s predicted Winter storm. Everything was pretty gloomy and the activity was pretty low. I did manage to capture a nice shot of a Hairy Woodpecker working the trees – he is today’s featured image. I spent a little time shooting an American Kestrel – pictured here. S/He looked like it was ready to take off at any moment but that was just to tease me. When it did finally leave it went straight back behind the dead tree it was perched on which gave me no shot. Mrs. Owl was in the nest though, barely visible. I’m hoping to catch both adults in the nest but so far….
