Today’s walk was really kind of interesting. I’ve been wondering why I hadn’t seen any Cooper’s Hawks working on a nest in the area they have used for the past several years. Then I spotted the one who is today’s featured image and my hopes rose. But, upon examination of the photo, I see that this is a juvenile hawk and so is probably not going to be working on a nest. I got the shots of Downy Woodpeckers pictured here in different locations but was happy to get both genders. Closing out the post is another Pied-billed Grebe who managed to capture a Crayfish while I was watching. I really didn’t see if he was able to actually swallow it but, either way, this Crayfish had a pretty crappy morning.
