Finally got out for a morning walk. Arriving at around 9:30 AM we got right on the trail. Not many people fishing today either in the fishing pond or the Arkansas river. No birds fishing either. I did manage to spot three Great Blue Heron’s sunning themselves in a bare tree on the south side of the river. I have posted a shot below – not a prize winner by any means as the tree was quite far away. Just for fun I also shot a Canada Goose napping in the shallow waters of the fishing pond.

After we got back in the car I headed over to the Osprey Picnic Area to see if there were any herons on or near a nest I have discovered over there. No luck. But as I was pulling out an Osprey appeared and circled overhead for a little while. I got some shots but nothing really great due to the altitude the bird was gliding at.
