Environment:
Start Time: 5:55 AM Temperature: 49 degrees Sky: Mostly sunshine.
Mornings are still starting out a bit crisp but are warming up quickly as soon as the Sun clears the canyon wall. I was out early still trying for that Osprey fishing shot. There were two of the big birds perched over the fishing pond when I arrived. As soon as I was in position they flew away. I had a few parting words for them. Featured is a Bullock’s Oriole who was much more cooperative. It didn’t do that much – just the feather shake that I captured – but he did hang around for a bit. Pictured here is a Mule Deer Doe that was moving along the bank of the Arkansas River sampling the foliage as she went. That was the extent of the river action since the water is pretty high and moving quickly.
