Things are starting to look up for we birders. Of course, we birders are always looking up. The Winter ducks are starting to show up. Today I saw a couple of Common Goldeneyes and two Gadwalls. I was starting to get worried. All we need now is a few Mergansers, some Buffleheads, Coots, Teals and Grebes and we will be all set. Featured image is a calm Autumn Scenic featuring the Arkansas River and an eager fisherman. Bird-wise I captured an American Kestrel in flight and a male Belted Kingfisher likewise airborne. Both pictures are darned near in focus. Pictured here is a male House Finch who was calmly checking things out.
