American Kestrel at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Kind of a dreary morning out on the trail this morning. I started a little late hoping the Sun would be the more dominant player in the sky which did not happen. I still managed to come home with some interesting captures. Today’s featured image is of a group of Mule Deer who were walking around in the middle of the Arkansas River for no discernible reason. There are still a few Osprey hanging around but activity was generally far from my location. Two of my favorite birds, a Belted Kingfisher and an American Kestrel were kind enough to remain still long enough for me to immortalize them though they could have come a little closer. One thing that the cloudy skies provided was a bit of visual drama which I tried to capture in the images at the bottom of this post.
