Check out last year’s walk on this day!

Black-capped Chickadee at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Another perfect morning for walking by the river. Not only that – a few birds decided to make their presence known. Some were a little too far away and some were fidgety as can be but I did manage to make it home with a little usable product. The toughest shot was the Black-capped Chickadee posted here. He was very busy and I feel that he was just daring me to take his picture. What I came away with isn’t all that great but I am posting it just for spite. The Red-winged Blackbird posted below was a bit of a surprise as I was pretty sure they had all headed for warmer fields. The featured image (above) for today is a Red-tailed Hawk who also wanted to present me with a challenge. Posted below is a (long) shot of what I believe to be a Dark-eyed Junco which proves that the Winter shift is on its way in.
