Grasshopper at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Slightly less sunshine and way fewer birds than yesterday but still a very pleasant outing this morning. I heard but did not see Blue Jays so I know they are still around. Also still around are a few Double Crested Cormorants a picture of one is posted below flying by. And the Gulls are starting to be seen more often on and above the Arkansas River. Today’s featured image (above) is a group of European Starlings gathered way up in a tree making travel plans no doubt. But the award for attendance for today (and most of the last couple of weeks) has to go to the Grasshoppers who are everywhere. If you stray off the trail even a little bit you might think you have stepped into a popcorn popper. Posted here is an image of one briefly clinging to a stick.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Double Crested Cormorant, Starlings, Northern Flicker, Gulls, Great Blue Heron, Belted Kingfisher, Hawk
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Grasshoppers, Cabbage Butterfly, Orange Sulphur Butterfly

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
