Great Blue Heron at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Autumn is taking hold for sure. The leaves are changing and the morning air is pretty crisp. Which is why I was surprised to see an Ornate Tree Lizard sunning itself on a tree stump. I even saw an Osprey flying about – probably wondering where everyone is. Today’s featured image is a White-crowned Sparrow posed nicely among some Rabbitbrush. Also pictured here is a Great Blue Heron who was standing on one leg on a sandbar in the Arkansas River. I guess it was just soaking up some sunshine. Below is a Yellow-rumped Warbler who was romping through the bushes with several of its kind and found the time to pause and look around.
