Very cool morning today. Not sure if all the birds slept in or what. The Arkansas River was surprisingly devoid of waterfowl – except for a few Mallard Ducks and the one Belted Kingfisher (I call them waterfowl because they make their living from the water) pictured here headed toward a nearby perch to enjoy some fresh breakfast. To bolster my case about the birds sleeping in I offer today’s featured image (top) of a Great Horned Owl sound asleep among the colorful Autumn Leaves.
