No matter what type of bird interests you, there is plenty to see in this colorful volume.
Here’s a collection of photographs that demonstrates the surprising diversity of birds that can be found in Southeastern Colorado. Some are year-round residents of the area while others are seasonal visitors. All are incredibly interesting to watch and even more challenging to photograph. No matter what type of bird interests you, be they birds of prey, waterfowl, perching birds or tree clingers, there is plenty to see in this colorful volume.
I began regularly walking the trails of the Rock Canyon area of Lake Pueblo State Park late in 2012 shortly after retiring from Corporate America. At first it was an excuse to get some exercise for myself and my two canine housemates. I have been an amateur photographer for many years, focused mainly on landscapes and closeups of other natural subjects, so it wasn’t long before I became aware of the many possibilities for nature photography available and started bringing my camera along. As time went by I began paying attention to the larger birds, hawks, osprey and cormorants, that, like me, were regulars at the park. One bird led to another and before long I was trying to capture anything with wings onto my memory card. This book is a sampling of my better efforts.
