I was ready to write today’s trip out to Lake Pueblo State Park off when the Sun, which had been obscured by some pretty thick clouds, finally broke through. Still, activity was low. The first of the Winter arrivals turned up in the form of a number of Cinnamon Teals who were checking out the Arkansas River. I only saw a couple of Ospreys – the one pictured here was busy with breakfast. Featured is a Great Blue Heron who made a pretty low pass over the trail. The Cormorants remain plentiful and very busy.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Cinnamon Teals, Double Crested Cormorants, Gulls, Canada Geese, Ospreys, Starlings, Great Blue Herons, Northern Flickers, Killdeer, Belted Kingfishers, Redheaded Woodpeckers, Red-winged Blackbirds
Critters: Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrel, millions of flying bugs
