Check out last year’s walk on this day!
A bit warmer this morning but you can still tell it is Autumn. I got most of the images for this post in the first half hour of today’s outing. The featured image and those posted below are all of the same (very cooperative) Great Blue Heron whom I happened upon as “He” was stalking some breakfast. This Heron is probably the least skittish of all the Herons I have photographed – he knew I was there but did not fly off until first catching and consuming a little nourishment out of the Arkansas River as illustrated in the mini-gallery below. This post would have been All Heron except for the other not-so-skittish bird I caught also dining on the fare provided at Lake Pueblo State Park – a Red-winged Blackbird.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Osprey, Double Crested Cormorant, Canada Geese, Starlings, Great Blue Heron, Northern Flicker, Red-winged Blackbird, Gulls, Common Grackle, Killdeer
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrel, Monarch Butterfly, Mule Deer
Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
