Blue-winged Teal at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Not much going on this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I mean when the featured image is an insect (Widow Skimmer) and the other two images are a duck (Blue-winged Teal) and a tree you know things are slow. The really sad note is that I did not see a single Osprey. Looks like the season is over for sure. I did see two Great Blue Herons but they were either too far away or duplicating poses that I have already memorialized on numerous occasions. I also frightened what I think was some brand of Yellowlegs (because all I could see as he flew away was a pair of yellow legs) but I can’t really be sure. I guess we will see what tomorrow brings – weather permitting.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Blue-winged Teal, Double Crested Cormorant, Canada Geese, Starlings, Great Blue Heron, Northern Flicker, Gulls, Warbler, Killdeer, Yellowlegs
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Tree Squirrel, Grasshoppers, Mule Deer

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-300mm
