The weather outside is frightful. My warm wool blanket is delightful. I guess I got nowhere to go. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Things were a lot nicer in 2022. Environment:Start Time: 10:25 AM Temperature: 43 degrees Sky: Sunshine with chilly breeze A dicey weather forecast for this afternoon and some pretty decent morning temps brought me out for a morning stroll at Lake Pueblo State Park. One of the better decisions I’ve made in my life. Right from the get-go it was literally eagle, eagle, eagle! I stepped out of my car and saw two…

Yes, I am getting a little fussy in my old age. Today’s conditions were perfect except for the low temperature. So let’s revisit 2022 and enjoy the eagle that put on quite a show. Think Spring! Environment:Start Time: 2:35 PM Temperature: 53 degrees Sky: Sunshine light breeze My new friend, the Bald Eagle, was perched off the trail in about the same spot as yesterday. I decided to chance a little mud on my shoes and tromped out for a better shot. Fortunately this bird is not the skittish type and patiently waited for me to find a nice clear…

Environment:Start Time: 7:50 AM Temperature: 28 degrees Sky: All sunshine. Really rather chilly out on the trail this morning. Even so, it was worth the trip out. The featured image for today is one reason – an American Bald Eagle who didn’t let me get too close. Normally the eagle would be the big thrill of the day but not today! Pictured here is a Great Horned Owl, most likely female, sitting in the same nest that she used last year. She and her hubby have been hanging around the area for a while so I thought I’d have a…

Yet another bit of history for your enjoyment. As you can see – November can be a tough month. Environment:Start Time: 9:25 AM Temperature: 44 degrees Sky: Cloud filtered sunshine. Walking conditions were much better this morning but birding conditions remain disappointing. I think yesterday’s wind blew away all the little birds. The bigger birds were keeping their distance today. The image posted below is an example of the kind of distance I’m talking about. I took the shot in hopes of at least making an ID of the largish bird I saw perched in the distant tree. I don’t…
