Environment:Crappy We’ve just had a run of cold and just snowy enough weather to keep me home the last several days. I’ve been anxiously watching the local weather prognosticators and it looks like I may be able to get out to Lake Pueblo State Park tomorrow. It also looks like if I don’t make it tomorrow I will be back on the couch for a few more days since more snow is being forecast for Friday. Environment:Start Time: 12:55 PM Temperature: 60 degrees Sky: Sunny, no clouds, no breeze Today’s outing started off on a super HIGH note! Out of force of habit I checked out the Osprey nest near the swim area as I drove into Lake Pueblo State Park. These days I don’t know what I’m looking for since all the Osprey have headed South. Environment:Start Time: 2:40 PM Temperature: 60 degrees Sky: Sunny, no clouds, light breeze The last day of November turned to be another perfect walking day and it started out with great promise. As I drove into the park I saw an American Bald Eagle flying West toward the Lake Pueblo Dam from the Rock Canyon area where I normally walk. I was hoping that he had left some friends behind but I walked my full tour without spotting another Eagle. In fact I saw very few birds at all. Environment:Start Time: 8:20 AM Temperature: 64 degrees Sky: Sunny, few clouds, moderate breeze Crazy warm this morning. Don’t know if it was this “heat” but there was not a lot happening along the Arkansas River today. I did see a Red-Tailed Hawk circling high in the sky. While I stood hoping s/he would coast my way I noticed that s/he was not alone up there. A smaller bird was vigorously harassing the hawk.
