March 08, 2022 – Repost

On the road today to visit family. Here’s a chance to relive March 08, 2022. Pretty much the same stuff as 2024 so far. Environment:Start Time: 2:50 PM Temperature: 39 degrees Sky: Sunshine and clouds – cold breeze. Not a busy day this afternoon at Lake Pueblo State Park. Not many fishermen or ducks on the river and only one gull on the fishing pond. The real activity was mostly the melting snow – which ended up staring in today’s featured image. I liked the combination of snow and last Summer’s leaves. Snow is also captured in the image posted…

Environment:Start Time: 7:20 AM Temperature: 27 degrees Sky: Mostly sunshine. With White-crowned Sparrows opening and closing this post, it should be obvious that today’s tour of Rock Canyon was a little dull. Though I have to admit that these two sparrows needed no lessons on how to pose. The featured sparrow is an adult male who really knew what to do with the low angle morning light. Pictured below is a Canada Goose who seemed to be really bummed, and was very vocal, about the frozen surface of the fishing pond. The ice on the pond must be really thick…

July 07, 2022

Environment:Start Time: 7:05 AM Temperature: 64 degrees Sky: Sunshine. Last night’s rain made for some muddy trails this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park though the puddles were not as bad as I expected. There was a bit more activity in the bird world today. At one point checking the sky I could see five soaring Osprey with only a slight turn of my head. I guess they are all up in the sky to avoid those Attack Western Kingbirds that were around yesterday. Today’s (not very exciting) featured image is one of this year’s Canada Goose goslings showing its…
