Environment:Start Time: 6:20 AM Temperature: 70 degrees Sky: Mostly Sunshine with light haze. Today’s tour of Rock Canyon was mostly unproductive in terms of captured images. There was plenty going on but nobody wanted to be on the Internet. The Osprey nest at the river bend was empty. All the trainees were either perching nearby or up in the sky perfecting their flight technique. One of the student flyers is today’s featured image. I even saw this one make a practice dive (with good form) but it pulled up well above the river surface. Pictured here is what I believe…

Environment:Start Time: 8:05 AM Temperature: 50 degrees Sky: Sunshine. Bird photography continues to be a challenge at Lake Pueblo State Park. I guess we are in a sort of lull between the Summer bird’s exit and the Winter bird’s arrival. Not all of the Summer gang is gone yet – today I saw two Ospreys and quite a few Cormorants. And the year-round birds are a bit more present right now with Red-tailed Hawks, Hairy Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers and Great Blue Herons turning up more often.
