September 30, 2022 Update

Update: At around 5:15 this evening I got a call from the Raptor Center and received an update on our Osprey’s condition. The lady told me that he was in pretty tough shape with apparent head trauma, swelling and a low body temperature. He is on pain medication, is being given something to eat and is getting warmed up. The good news is that there are no broken bones. I will keep seeking updates and I’ll pass on whatever I learn.

Environment:Start Time: 7:45 AM Temperature: 55 degrees Sky: Sunny. Walkus Interruptus Today’s walk took a weird turn pretty much right from the start. I had just gotten to the river and was starting to head East down the paved trail when I saw something odd in the water. A closer examination revealed this odd thing was an Osprey just standing waist deep in the water (if Osprey have waists) close to one of the broken concrete bridge pylons left over from the original route of Highway 96.
