The strong winds we have been experiencing over the past couple of days managed to subside a little – at least for the early morning. The Rock Canyon area does not appear to be worse for wear since I didn’t see any new fallen trees. As far as nests go – things are really quiet. Activity today was mostly Osprey (fishing and nest repairs) and Blue Jays being very vocal and going after the Cottonwood Flowers which are everywhere. One of those Jays landed the featured image slot up top. Pictured below is one of the Osprey escorting a very nice catch over the park. I managed to make two passes past the Great Horned Owl nest this morning. On my first visit only Mom was visible. I imagine she was keeping her little ones warm in the cool morning air.
