Things haven’t changes that much. I had to make it out to Lake Pueblo State Park this afternoon because the weather folks on local TV are saying tomorrow starts and stays cold with a snowfall finale. Here is another blast from the past while I recuperate. Environment:Start Time: 8:35 AM Temperature: 48 degrees Sky: Sunshine with light breeze. December is starting out on the warm side. I mean walking along the river in a T-shirt is not what you would expect. Not complaining though. Activity is picking up, too. There were a lot of American Robins darting in and out of the trees along the Arkansas. I think this was a group of migrants stopping for a rest. They were popping down to the water for some pretty long sips of water as pictured below. I…

Environment:Start Time: 3:25 PM Temperature: 42 degrees Sky: Clouds, sunshine and a breeze A potentially terrific day for walking and birding was severely damaged by a wickedly cold “breeze”. From the bright sunshine and limited cloud cover it looked perfect but it was really worse than yesterday. I set out to try shooting some video of birds on the Arkansas River but it was too cold to sit still so I did a short walk instead. There was a little action to be seen. Environment:Start Time: 8:40 AM Temperature: 48 degrees Sky: Sunshine. It’s Always Sunny at Lake Pueblo State Park. But not always active. Today’s photos are on the mundane side I’m afraid. I did see a couple of Great Blue Herons but that was about as sexy as it got. Today’s featured image is of a Gadwall Duck cruising on the Arkansas River. Below is another Song Sparrow but with a better background than the one I shot yesterday. I wish it would snow in the mountains so that the Bald Eagles would decide to come our way. I keep waiting.
