Environment:Start Time: 7:10 AM Temperature: 50 degrees Sky: Sunshine. Conditions were just a little past perfect out on the trail today. No complaints here. Spring is still springing up – Milkvetch (post bottom) is blooming giving the butterflies a reason to be out. I caught a group of Mule Deer giving the riverbank a good cleaning. Most birds were keeping low profiles – except those that were flying high in the sky. I see Double Crested Cormorants coming and going but I never seem to be near their destination. Today’s featured image is a Bullock’s Oriole who was too interested…

Environment:Start Time: 2:45 PM Temperature: 68 degrees Sky: Sunshine I’m starting to wonder if the current warm temperatures are driving the birds off in search of a place to cool off. Things were pretty quiet at LPSP this afternoon. I was hoping to find some smaller, cooperative birds to test out my vintage Olympus E-1 camera with its flash attachment. This rig requires me to get pretty close to my subject but I got no volunteers today. Environment:Start Time: 7:15 AM Temperature: 62 degrees Sky: Sunshine, few clouds and pleasant breeze. Very clear sky this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I noticed as I walked up-river that I was casting a distinct shadow for a change. Not much happened photographically I’m afraid. Most birds were either perched high up and well off trail or flitting about hidden in the foliage. Today’s featured image is some wildflowers that were blooming in the early morning light – Google identifies them as Ragworts. I did get another so-so shot of an American Kestrel. The shot posted below is really…
