Great Blue Heron at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

There still isn’t a lot going on out on the trails of Rock Canyon. It is really kind of spooky. The Arkansas River has settled down to a nice mellow flow but I still see mostly Geese and Cormorants out on the water. There are a few Mallard hens here and there but that is about it. I did catch one Great Blue Heron on the water today, too but even it didn’t seem all that interested in doing any fishing. There was a pretty good supply of Common Grackles bouncing from tree to tree along the riverbank. Further off the river I found a Great Horned Owl (featured) seemingly enjoying the quiet of the morning.
