Environment:
Start Time: 6:30 AM Temperature: 58 degrees Sky: Sunshine and a few clouds.
There were Ospreys sprinkled all over Rock Canyon this morning. One of them is today’s featured image giving me a stately and stern pose. It definitely meant business. Pictured here is one of many Great Blue Herons I saw on the Arkansas River though they didn’t hang around long once they got a look at me. It took some work but I managed to see a Great Horned Owl. It flew up from the ground to a perch. Its picture is at the bottom of this post. Had I not seen it flying there is no way I would have even known it was in the area.

Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Double Crested Cormorants, Canada Geese, Gulls, Ospreys, Starlings, Swallows, Great Blue Herons, Cooper’s Hawk, Common Grackles, Northern Flickers, Great Horned Owl, Western Wood Pewee
Critters: Grasshoppers, Mule Deer, Cabbage White Butterflies, Prairie Dogs, Rock Squirrel, Tree Squirrel
