My arrival on the scene this morning coincided with a number of Osprey’s fishing expedition so I finally managed to spend some time watching and shooting the action. Today’s featured image is the bird with the best catch and I have to give it credit for an extraordinary effort. He (?) slammed into the Arkansas River and tried to pull the fish out but just couldn’t do it so he flopped back into the water and sort of took a breather while treading water and then with a tremendous flap of its wings lifted off and headed for the trees. Very impressive. Pictured here is a Great Blue Heron wondering if he, too, could grab a fantastic breakfast.
