Environment:
Start Time: 7:40 AM Temperature: 45ish degrees Sky: Sun and clouds.
Although it was a little chilly at the beginning, today’s walk ended on the warm side. Featured is one of the newly minted Great Horned Owls peeking over the nest edge – only to see a goofy photographer staring at it. The little ones were a bit more active than usual but not enough to wake up mom on her nearby branch. I could not find the mother-to-be Cooper’s Hawk so I have nothing to report. Pictured here is an Osprey (one of the ones building on the power pole) returning to the nest with another stick for the wind to blow away. As you can see at the bottom of this post I managed to capture an American Kestrel with a recent catch. He (?) was parked in a tangle of branches which made it very difficult to get a shot of he and his next meal. The one posted is the best of the bunch.
