Liberty Point Takes the Stage
Late start this morning paid off when some terrific sunshine finally rose above the low morning clouds. Today’s bird stars were Flickers and Osprey. Both brands were very busy and very shy. I got one shot of an Osprey perched over the Arkansas River with Liberty Point standing proudly in the background – today’s featured image. I had another chance to get an Osprey perching over the river and I hoped to be able to get some shots of him taking flight. The problem was that he was perching behind a run of power lines that cross the park. I tried to get under the wires so I could get a clear shot but as soon as I did the bird decided to leave. Without much other avian activity I settled for a scenic shot of Liberty Point framed by a couple of cottonwood trees.
