Unidentified bird at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado

Another excellent morning to be out in nature. The wildfire haze was still present but to a much lesser extent. I was actually able to make out Pikes Peak from Reservoir Road as I entered Lake Pueblo State Park. There was a good amount of bird activity as well – I might even say too much as very few were inclined to pause for me to photograph. Nevertheless I did not come home empty-handed. Today’s featured image (above) is of a Wood Duck and a couple of what I believe to be juvenile Mallard Ducks. I also added a new bird to my personal list of bird sightings – an Audubon’s Warbler pictured in the photo gallery below. But the more frustrating shot of the day is a very poor shot I got of a bird I have not been able to identify. Pictured here on the right (depending on what type of device you are using) is what I think is some variety of Sandpiper though Google Lens is calling it a Black-crowned Night Heron. If you have any input feel free to contact me.
